I guess they had to add the height clearance lights to make sure that wing would fit under the drvie-thru
I also got my first chance to sit INSIDE a restaurant . While much of the rest of the country has been working to start the second wave of COVID, here in Massachusetts, we’re just getting to it.

I’ve sat inside a restaurant once since early March, a Subway a couple of weeks ago.
That may have to last me until 2021. What a weird year.

Not going to lie... I don’t really miss eating out. Or, rather, any pangs of missing eating out are dampened by the enormous amount of money I’m saving by not eating out.

We’ve lost a number of iconic restaurants due to this stupid pandemic.

One of my co-workers is a regularly goes to the bar. He doesn’t have any family or hobbies, he goes to work and goes to the bar. During the 2 months the bars were closed he said he saved up almost 2500 dollars.

That is one hell of a bar tab, but I believe it. My partner and I used to eat out a lot and usually at pretty nice places. Plus work lunch (WFH now...) and bars... I don’t really budget, but I would guess I’m saving at least $1,000/month.

The wing is a bit silly looking but I do like that green.

We’re saving on so much more than just food. Starting to spend more to make home more livable recently which will likely offset it, but it’s pretty crazy how much we’re saving. My car was paid off in May, saving around $2 00/month on lunches out for me (we still do takeout once or twice a week, my lunches are subsidized by work ). We have bought gas once since February, for example.

Agree. I’ve been spending somewhat lavishly on car parts and still am able to put a healthy amount into savings every month. Its kinda nuts.

I haven’t been inside a Subway for years.

Flatbread bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast is heavenly.

I like good food but I don’t really like to spend time in restaurants. With some company I can at least hav e ch a t while waiting but I’ll try to avoid restaurant while I’m alone. If the waiting time is near zero and price isn’t high I might do an exception.
Couple of years ago I visited Vancouver. There I found nice places serving cheap Asian noodle (rice based too) portions. I did order the portion from the counter and it was ready before I managed to pick up cutlery and a glass of water. I really loved this restaurant style but sadly we don’t have these. I didn’t even managed to figure out what would be a good name for these. Most of them were serving Japanese style menu but there were also Korean, Chinese or mixed versions.

I honestly like the wing on there. It looks 100x better than the constructed aluminum ones you usually see.

A friend after college would complain he never had money which I could never really put together as we made similar amounts and similar costs. Then a year or two later rops how he was spending over 15k a year at rest uarants, bars and strip clubs. I thought huh restoring porsches doesn’t seem so wasteful.

That’s insane, but I totally believe it. Before I got married I was all about eating as cheap as possible. Not that I was ever a frugal person, just that I’d rather spend money on cars than food.
